The Medical Surgical Nurse Director will join a hospital that offers a wide array of inpatient and outpatient services to the region. Cardiovascular Services and Neurosciences, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, Wound Care and Oncology - all are available at this outstanding medical center in the beautiful lake and river lands of Eastern Texas. This multi-specialty Medical Surgical Care Department has had an astounding track record of delivering the highest quality, award winning care. The Nurse Director will take clinical and managerial control of two 16-bed Acute Surgical Departments and one 20-bed Acute Medical Department which see a broad range of patients and cases at this certified trauma center. Reporting to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO), the Medical Surgical Nurse Director will take responsibility for a complex set of units and activities. Supporting you in this task are CMSRN Clinical Nurse Supervisors who oversee each of the three departments. Also supporting the Director are a team of Acute MedSurg Charge Nurses and RN Team Leads who take more staff-level oversight, and who are amazing patient care champions. The Medical Surgical Nursing Director will play a crucial role in the clinical and administrative operations of this unit, and of this hospital. This person will get to actively participate in the development and planning of the annual budget for this unit, setting and maintaining target staffing levels, and keeping a close eye on regulatory compliance for the MedSurg Units.
